Neuromodulators
Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Nuceiva are all a selection of brands that work by temporarily reducing muscle activity in targeted areas, softening the appearance of fine lines/wrinkles and supporting a range of aesthetic goals. At Luxe Aesthetics Loft in Willoughby, Langley, all neuromodulator treatments are provided by qualified medical professionals following an individualized consultation and assessment. Your injector will recommend and discuss the most appropriate product and dosage for your treatment areas and goals at your consultation.

Common areas where neuromodulators may be used
The most common concern for first-time clients is the fear of looking overdone. It is a valid one, and it is exactly why product selection, dose, and technique matter. Properly dosed, neuromodulators soften dynamic lines while preserving the natural movement that makes your face yours.
-
Forehead lines: horizontal creases that develop over time from repeated muscle movement, which neuromodulators can reduce while maintaining the ability to raise your brows naturally
-
Frown lines (the 11s): the vertical lines between the brows that can make a resting expression appear tense or tired, one of the most commonly treated areas
-
Crow's feet: the fine lines at the outer corners of the eyes that deepen with smiling and squinting
-
Bunny lines: the small diagonal creases that form across the nose bridge from repeated scrunching, often treated alongside frown lines

Precision and advanced neuromodulator applications
Beyond the classic treatment areas, neuromodulators can be used for targeted refinements that meaningfully affect overall facial balance. These areas are assessed individually at consultation, as technique, dose, and suitability vary more significantly than for standard treatments.
-
Chin softening: reducing the dimpled or cobblestone texture that can appear with age and muscle tension in the mentalis
-
Nasal tip: relaxing the depressor nasalis muscle may subtly elevate the tip of the nose when smiling, in appropriate candidates
-
Mouth corners/DAO: easing the depressor anguli oris muscle may help lift the corners of a downturned mouth in suitable candidates
-
Jaw slimming (masseter): reducing the bulk of the masseter muscle can soften a wide jaw profile; this is also used therapeutically for clients dealing with jaw tension and clenching
-
Gummy smile: limiting the elevation of the upper lip to create a more balanced smile line, assessed on an individual basis
-
Lip flip: a small-dose technique around the upper lip that can create the appearance of a slightly fuller upper lip without filler, suitable for appropriate candidates

Medical applications: where neuromodulators may assist
Botulinum toxin has well-established applications beyond cosmetic use. For clients dealing with certain conditions, a neuromodulator consultation may be worth exploring alongside other medical management. All medical applications require a thorough consultation and are subject to medical assessment.
-
Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating): injections into the underarm, palm, or foot may help reduce nerve signals to sweat glands in eligible clients; effects in this application typically last longer than cosmetic treatments
-
Chronic migraines: a structured protocol of targeted injections across the head, neck, and shoulder muscles may help reduce migraine frequency in clients who meet the clinical criteria for this approach; this is assessed at consultation
-
TMJ and jaw tension: neuromodulator treatment of the masseter and temporalis muscles may help reduce the grinding force and jaw clenching associated with TMJ dysfunction in suitable candidates

What to Expect from Neuromodulator Treatment
A straightforward overview for clients considering treatment at Luxe Aesthetics Loft

01
Onset within days, not weeks
Dysport typically begins to take effect within 24 to 72 hours, with most clients noticing visible change by day five to seven. Botox, Xeomin, and Nuceiva generally have an onset of three to seven days. Although all brands can/take full effect within two weeks. Individual response varies.
02
Movement preserved, lines reduced
The goal of properly dosed neuromodulator treatment is not immobility. It is the softening of dynamic lines, the creases formed by repeated muscle movement, while maintaining the facial expressiveness that makes your appearance natural. Your injector assesses dose and technique with this balance in mind.
03
