Chemical Peel Facials in Langley, BC
Chemical Peel Facials at Luxe Aesthetics Loft
Chemical peel facials use professional-grade acid solutions to exfoliate the skin's surface, accelerate cellular turnover, and reveal clearer, more even-toned skin underneath. At Luxe Aesthetics Loft in Willoughby, Langley, our peels use glycolic, salicylic, and lactic acid formulations selected for your specific skin concerns and sensitivity level. Whether you are managing acne and congestion, fading post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, or addressing uneven texture and early signs of aging, a chemical peel adapted to your skin is a well-established and effective approach to improving skin quality without surgical intervention.
Your skin's response to a peel depends on your skin type, the acid formulation, and the strength applied. At Luxe, every peel begins with a skin assessment so your provider can select the most appropriate formulation and ensure the treatment is safe and effective for your specific presentation. Pricing is available on consultation.

What a chemical peel does and how it works
A chemical peel applies an acid solution to the skin's surface, creating a controlled exfoliation that removes dead skin cells and triggers accelerated cell turnover. As the treated surface cells shed over the days following your appointment, fresher, more refined skin emerges. The depth of the peel, determined by the acid type, its concentration, and the application time, determines both the results you can achieve and the amount of recovery time involved.
At Luxe, we offer superficial to medium-depth peel formulations suited to a clinical setting with manageable downtime. We do not perform deep chemical peels, which require a medical setting with anaesthetic. The range of concerns our peels can address includes:
-
Acne and congestion: salicylic acid is oil-soluble and penetrates follicle walls, making it the most targeted option for active acne and blackheads
-
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation: the accelerated turnover of pigment-containing skin cells over a series of peels progressively lightens dark marks left by acne or other inflammation
-
Fine lines and early signs of aging: glycolic acid stimulates collagen production alongside surface exfoliation, contributing to improved skin firmness over a peel series
-
Rough texture and enlarged pores: regular superficial peels maintain a smoother surface and reduce the appearance of pore congestion over time
-
Sun damage and uneven skin tone: chemical exfoliation addresses the surface discoloration from UV exposure and melanin irregularities
-
Melasma: a series of carefully selected peels can progressively lighten melasma, though this requires specific formulation choices and consistent sun protection throughout treatment
Not sure which peel is right for you? Our team will assess your skin and guide you through your options for safe, effective exfoliation.

What clients at Luxe commonly notice after a peel series
A single chemical peel produces visible improvement, and a series of peels produces more sustained change as accumulated cellular turnover effects compound over time. Depending on the formulation selected, clients typically notice some or all of the following:
-
A brighter, more even complexion from the first session, with cumulative improvement across a series
-
Reduced frequency of breakouts and progressive fading of acne scarring over multiple treatments
-
• Smoother skin texture and a visible reduction in the appearance of enlarged pores
-
Fading of dark spots, sun damage, and melasma with consistent treatment and sun protection
-
Softer appearance of fine lines and improved skin firmness from the collagen-stimulating effect of AHA formulations
-
Improved results from other treatments: a peel performed between microneedling sessions or before a HydraFacial maintains skin surface quality and prepares the skin for deeper work
Whether you're prepping for a special event or looking to maintain clear, radiant skin year-round, chemical peels are a cornerstone of modern, non-invasive skin care.
What to Expect at Your Chemical Peel Appointment

01
Treatment duration: 30 to 45 minutes
Most chemical peel appointments at Luxe take 30 to 45 minutes and can be booked as a standalone session or as part of a broader skin treatment plan. The session begins with a thorough skin analysis to confirm the most appropriate formulation for your concerns and skin type that day. Chemical peels can be scheduled as a regular maintenance treatment every four to six weeks for most superficial formulations.
02
During the treatment: what it feels like
After cleansing and preparing the skin, your provider applies the selected acid solution to the treatment area. Most clients notice a mild tingling, warmth, or stinging sensation that is most pronounced in the first few minutes and subsides as the peel begins to neutralise. The sensation varies by formulation and skin sensitivity. Your provider monitors your skin throughout and adjusts or neutralises the peel based on your response.
03
After the treatment: what to expect
Following a superficial or light peel, your skin may appear pink, feel tight, or show light flaking for one to three days depending on the peel strength. This is a normal part of the cellular turnover process. We provide post-treatment care instructions before you leave. Sun protection from the day after your peel is essential, as freshly treated skin is more photosensitive for up to two weeks. A medium-depth peel will involve more visible peeling for up to seven days and requires more attentive aftercare.
04
Who should not have a chemical peel
Chemical peels are not appropriate for clients with active cold sores, open wounds, or active infection in the treatment area. Clients on isotretinoin (Accutane) should not receive a peel while on the medication or for a period following it. A history of keloid scarring is a relative contraindication that requires discussion before proceeding. Clients with a naturally darker skin tone should raise this at their consultation, as certain formulations carry a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in higher Fitzpatrick skin types. These are all discussed at your pre-treatment skin assessment.

Caring for your skin after a chemical peel
How you care for your skin in the days following a peel directly affects how well you heal and the quality of the result. Treated skin is more sensitive to UV exposure, environmental irritants, and active skincare ingredients for at least the first week. Following the aftercare guidelines below minimises the risk of adverse reactions and supports the skin renewal process.
Post-Peel Guidelines:
-
Avoid exfoliating products, active ingredients such as retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and physical scrubs for three to five days after your treatment
-
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50 every morning from the day after your peel onwards, and reapply if you are outdoors. Treated skin is more photosensitive and unprotected sun exposure can cause or worsen pigmentation
-
Use gentle, hydrating, and barrier-supportive skincare for the first week: a mild cleanser, a fragrance-free moisturiser, and nothing with active ingredients until the surface has fully settled
-
Avoid heavy makeup for 24 to 48 hours following your treatment to allow the skin barrier to recover
-
Do not pick or peel flaking skin. Allow it to shed naturally. Forcing the peeling process can cause irritation, scarring, or uneven results
-
We carry a range of clinic-approved skincare products suitable for post-peel recovery and maintenance. Ask your provider at your appointment for a recommendation based on your skin type

What makes chemical peel treatments at Luxe different
Every chemical peel at Luxe Aesthetics Loft begins with a skin assessment rather than a fixed protocol. The acid formulation, concentration, and application time are selected for your skin type, concerns, and sensitivity level on the day of your appointment, not applied uniformly to every client. This approach makes the treatment both safer and more effective, particularly for clients with more complex presentations such as active acne alongside hyperpigmentation, or sensitive skin alongside textural concerns.
What to expect from Luxe:
-
Peels performed by certified skincare professionals trained in chemical resurfacing protocols
-
Customizable formulations using Health Canada-approved professional-grade acids, selected for your skin type and concerns
-
A pre-treatment skin assessment at every appointment to confirm the right formulation and ensure suitability
-
Honest guidance on what a peel can realistically achieve for your specific skin, and when another treatment would serve you better
We combine science, artistry, and client education to deliver results you can see and feel.
